April 2008 Mose Rager Day

Mose Rager Day was held on April 12th, 2008.  It's not a well advertised event, even in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky - which results in a fairly small gathering of thumb pickin' enthusiasts - however, I've gotta tell y'all - it's a blast for those few that do show!

The picture above was the group of "pickers" that performed and jammed that Saturday at the old Drakesboro, Kentucky high school that is now a flea market.  From left to right:

JD Norman - Columbus, Ohio
Freddie Russell - Allegre, Kentucky (same as Odell Martin)
Palmer Moore - Worthington, Ohio
Gerald Johnson - ??, Kentucky
Scott Taylor - Lexington, Kentucky  (Originally from Drakesboro, KY)
Steve Rector - Greenville, Kentucky
Dave Duncan - Danville, Kentucky
Joe Hudson - Greenville, Kentucky
Irv Watts - Scottsville, Kentucky
Paul Moseley - McHenry, Kentucky
Bob Henthorne - Marietta, Ohio

Eddie Pennington, usual attendee and star picker at Mose Rager Day, sent his regrets that he couldn't be there this year because his wife, Penny, was getting out of the hospital that day.  We all wish her a speedy recovery - as I understand Eddie's a lousy cook and probably a wastin' away to nothing without her... (LOL)
